Bring on the Contests!

We love a good competition, and we’ve got three going on right now! I’ll list them chronologically, share a bit how you can help, and how it will impact our business and the community.

First we have the Burger War which is well underway. We quickly sold out of these amazing local Vegan Burgers, with help from a couple of appearances by “Darth Vegan”! We have since increased our production capacity, sourcing lots of local ingredients to sell even more burgers in support of Campaign for Kids. If you haven’t voted yet, be sure to vote at this page by the end of the month!

Another local contest relates to the culmination of Ariell sharing two decades of her passion for food in the Annapolis Valley. She has been nominated for “Business Woman of the Year” at the Women of Excellence Awards put on by the Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce. We are in the process of filling out our submission, and testimonial letters have been requested by the judges. Any one who has been impacted by her over the years is encouraged to email a testimonial to in support of her nomination. The deadline for this if Friday, April 26th. Ariell is not the type to ever expect recognition, but it would be huge for her after so many sacrifices.

The third competition has just begun, and is at the national level! The FedEx Small Business Grant Contest just started on the 15th, with the voting period open until May 13th. Check our our profile and cast your vote for the Edible Art Cafe to win a $30,000 grant! It would be a huge boost toward renovating our former Horton high school band room and bus garage building, as well as revitalizing the the old school grounds 🙂 Check out the latest renovation update video below, along with the history and vision for our property.

We can’t thank you enough for all your amazing support. It’s nothing short of mind blowing how we were able to purchase the building last year with the help of the community. We believe in the massive long term potential of not only opening up our business as a creative outlet to the community, but also doing the same on a much larger scale on the surrounding 10 acre former school grounds. Here are the links once again, so please spread the word!

Thank you,

Jesse and Ariell Vincent
